A child’s communication is a crucial component of their overall mental health. Sometimes a child’s behavioral issues can be rooted in an undiagnosed speech or language disorder, such as an inability to communicate. Other times, a specific speech/language disorder can result in other complications, such as an untreated oral-motor issue leading to an eating disorder. We work closely and collaboratively with Simply Speaking's board-certified and licensed speech-language pathologists. Occupational Therapy can be an important complement to mental health treatment. Children’s behaviors are often misdiagnosed when there are sensory issues. We believe in working closely with an occupational therapist who is knowledgeable in the area of sensory processing. Inspire Therapy Solutions uses individually crafted, holistic interventions based on proven occupational therapy strategies and the latest research in brain development, to help a child be successful at home, in school, and within the community. Refer Your ChildSometimes a developmental concern or behavioral issue may be best observed and treated in a child’s natural environment. In a child’s home or school setting, a clinician can better see how the environment both affects and is influenced by the specific concern. When appropriate treatment is provided within the setting, such as assisting with fine motor skills in the classroom, for example, it can help a child learn and use the skills more effectively and more permanently, and often leads to better teamwork with a child’s teachers and school staff, which help to reinforce the newly learned skills or behaviors.
With a focus on holistic, individualized care, Kinder Konsulting ensures that when these off-site services are part of the individual plan, communication among team members, specialists and the client remain a top priority, so that everyone involved is working toward the same goal.
